Forex EA Reviews & Comparisons
Forex Flex EA Review: What the Evidence Shows
Independent Forex Flex EA review: how it trades, what each licence costs, what its Myfxbook claims show and what to test on a demo account before you pay.
Quick answer
Forex Flex EA is a long-running commercial multi-strategy expert advisor for MetaTrader 4 and 5, sold by its developer for roughly $349 to $500 per licence. Its case rests on vendor-published Myfxbook accounts, a drawdown stop loss and a basket trailing take-profit. We have not tested it. Check the tracked drawdown, run it on a demo account for weeks, and confirm the refund terms before you pay.
Key takeaways
- Forex Flex EA is a paid multi-strategy EA for MT4 and MT5 with a basket trailing take-profit and a drawdown stop loss.
- Prices differ between sources, so treat any 'regular price' as an anchor and read the licence page on the day you buy.
- The performance evidence is vendor-published Myfxbook accounts. The vendor chooses which accounts to show, so check each one yourself.
- We did not run this EA. Everything here is attributed to the vendor, an independent reviewer or our own checks of public pages.
- Run it on a demo account for at least four to eight weeks and compare the result with the tracked account before you risk real money.

You found Forex Flex EA, and the page looked impressive. A developer who says the system has been around since 2012. Dozens of selectable strategies. Hundreds of set files. Live Myfxbook accounts. A price that drops from $1,059 to $349.47 with a coupon. A counter that says only a few spots are left.
Then you try to decide, and the information stops agreeing with itself. One site says $349. Another says $499.95. A comparison table says $97. A marketplace listing sells a “v1.0” file for $14.99. Reviews call it “established” and “transparent”, but almost every review is written by someone with a link to sell, a hosting plan to promote, or both.
You are not really asking whether Forex Flex EA is good. You are asking something harder: how do I tell, before I pay, whether this expert advisor (EA, an automated trading program for MetaTrader) fits my account and my risk limit?
Here is the cost of guessing. Picture a trader we will call Sam. This is a composite, not a real client. Sam reads three enthusiastic reviews, buys the single-platform licence on the discount page, and loads a set file with a name that sounds safe. The account is $500. The tracked accounts on the vendor page may have been run on balances, brokers and settings that Sam never checks. In week three, the market does something the tracked account never showed on that pair. The basket of open trades grows, the drawdown stop loss is set far wider than Sam can stomach, and Sam closes everything by hand at the worst moment. The licence is bought. The money is spent. And Sam still does not know whether the EA was the problem or the setup was.
That outcome is avoidable. It does not need a verdict from us. It needs a method, a way to read the evidence the vendor gives you, find what is missing, and test the rest yourself for free.
This review gives you both. It tells you what Forex Flex EA is and what its own page says, where the sources disagree, what the track record can and cannot show, and a step-by-step demo plan. It also comes with a free checklist, so the questions that matter are written down before you spend anything.
A note on how this review was made. We did not run Forex Flex EA on a test account, and we say so wherever it matters. Every product claim below is attributed to the vendor or to a named independent source. We read the vendor’s page on 5 November 2026. BESTMT4EA sells its own expert advisors, so we have a commercial interest in this market. There is no affiliate link to Forex Flex EA in this post, and we earn nothing if you buy it.
What is Forex Flex EA?
Forex Flex EA is a commercial expert advisor for MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5), sold by its developer through the website forexflexea.com. The vendor sells MT4 and MT5 versions separately or as a bundle, and says it works with “any MT4/MT5 forex broker”.
The vendor’s page presents it as a multi-strategy system. It lists dozens of selectable strategies, hundreds of unique settings and hundreds of set files. A set file is a saved list of input values that you load into the EA so you do not enter every setting by hand. The vendor’s headline also says “Best MT4 EA since 2012”, and the page refers to results from 2012 to 2022. An independent review by NYCServers repeats that the EA has been in development since 2012, but it takes that from the developer. We could not find an independent source that confirms the start year, so treat it as the vendor’s claim.
Independent coverage is thin. The reviews we found fall into three groups: the vendor’s own pages, affiliate-style review sites, and a review from a company that sells VPS hosting to Forex Flex EA users. One search summary we ran noted that Forextester and Forex Peace Army state outright that they do not endorse products like this. In short, nobody outside the vendor has published a controlled forward test that we could find.
That does not make the EA bad. It means the weight of proof sits with the buyer, and the rest of this review is about how to carry it.
How does Forex Flex EA trade?
The vendor’s page describes four working parts. We list them as the vendor words them, because the exact wording matters when you ask questions later.
Virtual trades. The EA runs simulated trades in the background, six per pair by default, and uses them to find entries. The idea is that it watches how simulated positions behave before it opens a real one. The NYCServers review describes this as assessing momentum and volatility. Both descriptions come from the developer. We cannot say whether this improves entries, because we have no controlled comparison against the same strategy without the virtual stage.
Equity trailing take-profit. Trades on a pair are grouped into a basket. Once the basket reaches a preset percentage of profit, the vendor says half of that profit is locked in and the stop then trails upward. This means the EA judges a group of positions together instead of giving each one its own fixed take-profit.
Drawdown stop loss. When drawdown reaches a set percentage of the balance, the EA closes all trades. Drawdown is the drop from a peak in your account equity to a later low. A drawdown stop loss is an emergency exit for the whole basket. Where you set it is the most important setting you will choose, and we come back to it below.
Hedging. The vendor says hedging is off by default. Hedging means holding opposite positions at the same time.
The NYCServers review adds claims that come from the developer: more than 15 built-in indicators (it names EMA, TDI, RSI and Bollinger Bands), news filters that pause trading around high-impact events such as NFP and FOMC, session filters for London, New York and Asia, dynamic lot sizing from balance or equity, and automatic updates with optimised settings.
Is it a grid or a martingale?
This is the question we would ask first, and the vendor’s page does not answer it. The page does not describe Forex Flex EA as a grid or martingale system. The only mention of grids that we found is the name of one showcased account, “HalfGrid”. A grid system opens extra positions at set price steps. A martingale raises position size after a loss. Both can produce smooth equity curves for a long time and then a very large loss.
Because the EA offers dozens of strategies, the honest answer is probably “it depends on which strategy and settings you load”. That is your cue to ask the vendor, in writing, how each strategy you plan to use adds positions and what the maximum number of open trades and the largest lot size reached in the tracked accounts were. Then check the Myfxbook trade history yourself. We show how below.
What does the vendor recommend for pairs and timeframes?
The recommended pairs on the vendor’s page include GBPUSD, USDJPY, EURUSD and AUDUSD, and the page says some pairs are best avoided. It also says the EA can run on “virtually any charts”. The showcased accounts are all on the H1 chart. Pair choice changes spread, volatility and how often the EA trades, so follow the vendor’s recommendation for your first test instead of trying everything at once.
How much does Forex Flex EA cost, and why do the prices disagree?
On the vendor’s page when we read it on 5 November 2026, the licence options were these.
| Licence | Platform | Listed price | Stated “regular” price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flex EA x1 | MT4 | $349.47 | $1,059 |
| Flex EA x1 | MT5 | $349.47 | $1,059 |
| Flex EA x2 Prop + VPS | MT4 and MT5 | $499.95 | $1,515 |
The page presents the lower price as a result of the coupon code FLEX67OFF (“67% off”) and adds a free month of VPS hosting. It also shows “limited spots left” text next to each tier.
Here is how we read that, and you may read it differently.
The “regular” price is an anchor. A price that is crossed out and replaced by a coupon price is a sales technique. If the product is always sold at $349.47 with the coupon, then $349.47 is the real price and $1,059 is a number to ignore. One of the review sources we read makes the same point. Judge the EA at the price you would actually pay.
The “spots left” counter is sales copy. Our own content standard bans fake scarcity, so we will not repeat it as a fact. We cannot verify that licences are limited. Do not let it speed up your decision. A decision that takes two extra weeks to test costs you nothing; a rushed purchase can cost you the licence and more.
Other sources quote other numbers. The sources we found give about $349 in a prop-firm comparison article, $499.95 in another review, and $97 in one alternatives table that also lists a 60-day refund. These figures probably come from different dates and licence tiers, and some may be wrong. The NYCServers page itself is dated inconsistently, with a published date in November 2025, an update in October 2026 and pricing “as of July 2026”.
Beware very cheap copies. Marketplace listings that sell a “Forex Flex EA” file for a few dollars exist. A file sold that cheaply is almost certainly not an official licence. It may be an old version, may have no updates, and can carry malware. A trading program that connects to your broker account is the last place to run an unknown file. Buy from the developer’s own site or do not buy.
What the vendor says you get for the price: unlimited demo use, access to all strategies, strategy set files, forum access, lifetime free updates, a prop firm version, a free month of VPS, and licences that can be transferred. Those inclusions come from the vendor’s page and the NYCServers review; none of them are things we have tested.
Price check before you buy. Open the licence page in a private window, note the price and the date, screenshot the refund terms, and compare the licence you are buying with the table above. If the price or the terms differ from what you read, ask why before paying.
What does the track record actually show?
The vendor’s page shows about ten Myfxbook accounts. Myfxbook is a third-party service that connects to a trading account and publishes its history, so the vendor cannot edit the numbers. That is better evidence than a screenshot. It is still the vendor’s choice of which accounts to show.
On the page, as we could read it, the vendor makes two specific claims. One account, “x3Retrace”, is described as having reached 300% before the owner withdrew all the money. Another, “Default 6 Month 3x”, is described as having tripled in six months. The gain and drawdown numbers themselves sit inside embedded widgets that our text reading could not capture, so we are not quoting any percentages from them. Open the accounts yourself and read the figures at the source.
The NYCServers reviewer notes that results can differ depending on when the EA was started, because it uses CSV files for its analysis. The reviewer also says some verified accounts have shown significant drawdowns, that exact Myfxbook performance should not be expected to repeat, and that the EA carries real risk. We would add: every EA carries risk, and a review that says so is more useful than one that does not.
How do you read a Myfxbook page for a system like this?
Do not scan for the biggest green number. Open each account and write down these items.
| Check | What to look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Account type | Demo or live | A demo fill does not carry the slippage and requotes a live account has. |
| Verified status | Trading privileges verified and a connected broker | An unverified account can be edited or reset. |
| Age | Months and years of history | Three months of gains is a streak. Three years is a record. |
| Absolute gain vs gain | Both figures, and the deposits and withdrawals | A withdrawal can make an account look like it lost; a large deposit can make it look like it gained. |
| Maximum drawdown | Percentage and date | This is the number your nerves and your account size must survive. |
| Trade count | Hundreds or thousands | Ten trades prove nothing. |
| Largest lot and open trades | Peak position size and the most trades open at once | These expose grid or martingale behaviour. |
| Settings used | A named set file and a risk level | A result is only repeatable with the same settings. |
| Start date | When the EA began on that account | A curve that starts right after a bad period flatters the result. |
If the page does not tell you the settings behind a tracked account, ask. A track record you cannot reproduce is a story, not a test.
What about the claim that an account “reached 300% then withdrew all the money”?
Read it carefully. It says an account reached a large gain and that the owner then took the money out. It does not tell you the starting balance, the drawdown on the way, the time it took, the lot size, or whether the account was live. A withdrawal is also the end of that record, which means the account does not show how the EA behaved afterwards. These are the questions to put to the vendor, not reasons to dismiss the claim.
What is the bias to watch for in any vendor track record?
The vendor decides which accounts to display. Accounts that did badly are not on the page. One source reviewing the prop firm setups noted that the setups shown are the only passing accounts, so no pass rate can be calculated. The same logic applies to the main page. Ten displayed accounts are not ten tests; they are the ones that made the page.

The fix is to ask for the list of all accounts run with the same strategy, including the failed ones. If the vendor refuses, that is an answer.
Does Forex Flex EA pass prop firm challenges?
The vendor sells a “Prop Firm EA Version” and includes it in the $499.95 package. Its FAQ says many users have reported passing challenges and points to a separate FTMO-focused product. It gives no pass counts, no failure counts and no dates.
A prop firm challenge is a paid evaluation. You trade a simulated account and must reach a profit target without breaking a daily loss or total loss limit. Those limits are strict and they change. A basket EA with a drawdown stop loss can fit that design, but “can fit” is not “does pass”.
If you want to use it for a challenge, do this.
- Read the prop firm’s current rules for daily loss, maximum loss, news trading, weekend holding and EA use. Rules change, so do not rely on a review for them.
- Match the EA’s drawdown stop loss to the prop firm’s limit. The stop must trigger well inside the firm’s daily and total loss limit, with room for slippage.
- Demo test the exact set file under the challenge’s rules before paying the challenge fee.
- Ask for pass and fail numbers from the vendor for that exact version and firm, and treat anything vague as unknown.
The challenge fee is a real cost on top of the licence. Do not buy the licence and the challenge on the same day.
What account size and broker do you need?
The vendor’s stated minimum deposits are $10 on a nano account, $100 on a micro or cent account, and $1,000 on a standard account. The NYCServers review does not state a minimum balance, and says traders with very small accounts may struggle to absorb drawdowns.
We read those numbers as the lowest balance the software will accept, not the balance at which a basket strategy is comfortable. A basket EA can hold several positions at once, and each position has a minimum lot size at your broker. On a small balance, the smallest lot can already be a large share of your equity when several trades are open.
A simple way to check this is to set the drawdown stop loss at the level you could actually accept, then ask what lot size keeps the combined loss of a full basket under that figure. If the answer is below your broker’s minimum lot, the account is too small for that strategy.
For the broker, the NYCServers reviewer recommends low-spread ECN accounts with fast execution. A scalping or short-term basket system is sensitive to spread and slippage, so run your demo test on the same broker and account type you would use live. For a framework on this, see our guide to the best brokers for EA trading and the check on broker regulation and client funds. If you want to compare our listed partners, the broker comparison shows regulation, minimum deposit and platforms side by side.
Do you need a VPS?
The NYCServers reviewer recommends a VPS for steady uptime and lower latency, and argues the virtual-trade engine needs continuous data. That reviewer works for a VPS provider, so factor in the interest. Still, the logic holds for most EAs: if your computer sleeps, your EA stops. A Windows VPS keeps MetaTrader running without your own machine. Our Windows VPS for forex EA page lists the specifications, and any reliable provider will do. A VPS also does not remove risk, because the VPS itself can go offline.
How do you test Forex Flex EA before spending real money?
This is the section that protects your money. The vendor and the NYCServers review both say unlimited demo use is included. Use it.
Open a demo account at the broker and account type you would use live. Set the balance to the amount you plan to trade. Do not test with a $100,000 demo balance and then trade $500.
Follow this plan.
| Week | What to do | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Install the EA, load one vendor-recommended set file, and write down every input value. | Settings, balance, broker, account type, date. |
| 1 | Run on one recommended pair and the H1 chart. Change nothing. | Daily balance, equity, open trades, largest lot. |
| 2 | Keep running. Note the first drawdown and how the basket behaved. | Maximum drawdown so far, number of trades. |
| 3 to 4 | Keep settings fixed. Compare with the tracked account’s equivalent weeks. | Gap between your results and the tracked account. |
| 5 to 6 | Run through a high-impact news event. Check the news filter behaved as described. | Spread at the news, trades opened or paused. |
| 7 to 8 | Decide using your numbers: drawdown against your limit, the gap against the tracked account, and your own comfort. | One-page summary. |
Rules for the test.
- Change nothing mid-test. If you change a setting, you have started a new test.
- Write down your stop condition before you begin. For example: “If demo drawdown passes X%, I do not buy.”
- Compare with the tracked account honestly. A gap is information. Large gaps between your demo and the vendor’s account usually come from different brokers, spreads, start dates or settings.
- Treat a good demo as a reason to continue, not proof. Demo fills do not carry the slippage and requotes of a live account.
- Start live small, if you start. Use a balance you could lose, and keep the lot size low.
For more on testing methods, read our guide on backtesting versus forward testing an EA. The MetaTrader documentation on testing trading strategies explains the tester’s limits.
What does the free checklist add?
The EA Verification Checklist on this page is a one-page PDF. Its three parts are the track record, the risk numbers that matter and the questions to ask the vendor. It is deliberately not specific to Forex Flex EA, so you can use it on the next EA too. For this review, fill it in with the Myfxbook details from the table above, then add the vendor’s written answers on how the strategy adds positions, the maximum drawdown, and the refund terms. A blank row is a reason to pause.
Who is Forex Flex EA for, and who should skip it?
| It may suit you if | You should skip it if |
|---|---|
| You are willing to spend several hours learning the settings and testing on demo. | You want a plug-and-play system you can start in an hour. |
| You can afford the licence and an account large enough for a basket strategy. | The licence price is a large part of your trading balance. |
| You want to choose among many strategies and manage risk inputs yourself. | You prefer one fixed strategy with one tracked account. |
| You are comfortable setting a drawdown stop loss you will actually honour. | You are likely to override the EA by hand when the account is down. |
| You will test on demo at your own broker for weeks. | You plan to buy because a counter says spots are running out. |
The NYCServers reviewer estimates “a few hours” of study and calls the learning curve steep. That fits what the vendor’s page shows: hundreds of settings and dozens of strategies give you flexibility and also more ways to make a mistake.
What can’t we tell you about Forex Flex EA?
An honest review lists its gaps.
- We have not run it. We cannot tell you how it behaves on your broker.
- We could not read the Myfxbook figures. The gain and drawdown numbers sit in embedded widgets. We did not quote any, and you should read them yourself.
- We could not confirm the 2012 start date beyond the vendor’s own claim.
- We could not verify prop firm pass rates. The vendor gives none.
- We cannot confirm the current price. It differs between sources and changes with coupons.
- We do not know whether the tracked accounts are live or demo. The page does not make that clear in the text we read. Check each account’s type on Myfxbook.
- We do not know the worst drawdown across all accounts the vendor has run, only the ones it chose to show.
None of this is a reason to call the EA a scam. Nothing we found suggests that. It is a reason to treat the claims as claims until your own test supports them.
Our verdict on Forex Flex EA
Forex Flex EA looks like an established commercial EA with real features: a basket trailing take-profit, a drawdown stop loss, news and session filters, lot sizing options and a large set of strategies. It also has a high price, a steep learning curve, a sales page with pricing anchors and a scarcity counter, and a track record that the vendor curates.
Our position is simple. It deserves a serious demo test and not a quick purchase. If it passes your eight-week test at your broker with a drawdown you can live with, it earns a small live trial. If it does not, you have paid nothing to find out.
Closing: your next step
You came here to decide whether to buy Forex Flex EA. You now have a better question: what does the evidence support?
Do three things today.
- Download the EA Verification Checklist from the card on this page and open the vendor’s Myfxbook accounts with it beside you.
- Send the vendor three questions in writing: how the strategy you want adds positions, the worst drawdown across all accounts run with it, and the exact refund terms.
- Open a demo account at your broker, set the balance you really plan to trade, and start the eight-week plan.
If you would rather compare systems whose figures are read straight from a tracked account on the product page, our ranking of expert advisors shows the live gain, drawdown and account type next to the licence price, and our best forex EA guide explains how we compare them.
Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss, and an expert advisor can lose money as quickly as it makes it. Past performance does not predict future results. Test on a demo account first, and trade only money you can afford to lose.
Frequently asked questions
What is Forex Flex EA?
It is a commercial expert advisor for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, sold by its developer at forexflexea.com. The vendor describes it as a multi-strategy system with dozens of selectable strategies and says it has been developed since 2012.
How much does Forex Flex EA cost?
On the vendor's page when we read it on 5 November 2026, a single MT4 or MT5 licence was listed at $349.47 against a stated regular price of $1,059, and a two-licence package with prop firm version and VPS at $499.95. Other sites quote different figures, so confirm the price on the licence page.
Is Forex Flex EA a grid or martingale system?
The vendor's page does not describe it as either. It describes baskets of trades per pair, an equity trailing take-profit and a drawdown stop loss. Ask the vendor directly how the chosen strategy adds positions, and check the maximum open trades in the Myfxbook history.
Can Forex Flex EA pass a prop firm challenge?
The vendor sells a prop firm version and says many users have reported passing challenges, but it gives no pass counts. Read the prop firm's current rules, test the exact settings on a demo account, and treat the claim as unproven until you have your own result.
Is there a refund?
The vendor's page states a 30-day money-back guarantee. Read the full refund terms at checkout, keep your order records, and test on a demo account inside that window so you can judge it before the period ends.
Do I need a VPS to run it?
An independent review recommends one, because the EA works continuously on live data and a dropped connection interrupts it. The vendor bundles one month of VPS with its licences. Any reliable Windows VPS that runs MetaTrader will do.
